Game changing newsletter sponsorship strategies

Hey Reader,

It's a busy few weeks for me with some travel and a ton of prep work for Craft + Commerce this week. I am so excited to be back in person this year, and I hope to see you there!

Last week I went up to Kelowna, BC to speak at my friend Dan Martell's event for SaaS founders. Because Boise and Kelowna are fairly close, but don't have direct flights, I chartered a private flight—which meant my mom could come! It was a fun weekend of waterfront runs, wine tours, and workshops.

18 simple tips, tricks, and misconceptions about money

I shared some of my favorite tips and tricks about money on Twitter and people really responded to it. Here are a couple from the thread that I think everyone should know.

Tip: Avoid lifestyle creep When most people start making more money, they start spending more. They buy the new car or an expensive wardrobe. Instead, consider reinvesting that money. Wealth creation > lifestyle inflation.
Trick: Automate your finances. Personal finance can get confusing. Especially when you have a full-time job and a few side hustles! Build systems that automatically: 1. Pay your rent/mortgage 2. Pay your bills 3. Puts money in your savings 4. Invests money for retirement

Justin Moore - Game changing newsletter sponsorship strategies

In this episode I talk to Justin Moore. Justin is a Sponsorship Coach & the founder of Creator Wizard, a school & community that teaches you how to find & negotiate your dream brand deals.

My favorite part of the episode is when we dive into From Boise, my side project newsletter. Justin breaks down what we’re doing wrong with sponsorships, how we should be selling them, and how there’s quite a bit more to be earned. We also dive into the way he runs his newsletter and how he’s grown it.

WHAT I'M READING

The Score Takes Care of Itself by Bill Walsh, Steve Jamison, Craig Walsh

Bill Walsh was a legendary NFL coach, and a true student of human nature. He was a brilliant leader and this book shares how he did it. It's really interesting to not only hear his philosophies and principles, but also story after story of how he implemented those and really got the best out of the people he was leading. It's a great read for anyone leading a group of any size!
