Hey Reader,

We've been researching our 2022 State of the Creator Economy Report for a while now, and I'm so excited to finally get to share it with you today!

You can see it here.

Want a little sneak peek at what’s inside? Here are 4 quick insights:

1. Women creators outnumber men creators by nearly 2:1 and were the most likely to have earned revenue in 2021, but men were more than 2x as likely to earn over $150k.

It’s clear that the creator economy also has a gender pay gap problem. It’s great that more women creators are taking control of their earnings and work, but there’s still progress to be made.

2. 15.4% of all creators surveyed are in the middle class (earning between $50k- $150k per year) compared to 21.98% of full-time creators who identify as middle class.

The creator economy isn’t all overnight sensations making celebrity-level cash or struggling content creators barely scraping by. Plenty of people are earning a decent living right in the middle.

3. Creators earning at least $25k a year were happier than creators earning less, while creators earning more than $150k reported the highest happiness level.

Money may not buy happiness but it definitely has an impact on how creators view their work and their happiness in that work. The average creator happiness score was 6.6/10.

4. 67% of full-time creators started more than 3 years ago, and just over a quarter began growing an audience a decade or more ago.

It takes time and consistency to grow an audience and business as a creator! Overnight success stories are fun, but most people put in a lot of consistent work before they are able to support themselves as a creator.

These insights are just the tip of the iceberg.

There's a lot in this report to digest, but we tried to make it really easy to see the insights. Dig in here!

Hope you have a great week!
